We haven't fallen off the face of the planet...yet ;)

Our home computer has been in for a warranty replacement of the motherboard hence the lack of any updates recently.

Regarding my last post, we've gotten enough interest on the seats through various channels to more than keep me busy for awhile. Nickie and I have been thinking through some design improvements to make the construction and finishing of the seats a fair bit better, and make the kit construction a lot easier for folks who want a kit instead of a fully assembled piece.

At this point after the new design considerations the pricing breakdown is as follows:

Single kid seat fully assembled and finished, including straps, pads. $290

Single kid seat as a kit, pads finished, needs wood joining, assembly, and finishing $220

Double kid seat fully assembled and finished, including straps, pads. $370

Double kid seat as a kit, pads finished, needs wood joining, assembly, and finishing $290

Now the catch is that in order to do so we'll be buying some expensive tooling to do some mass production dovetailing, so that most joining is just a matter of gluing and sliding dovetail joints together. Consequently could all parties who've shown interest through various channels, do me one more favor, and send me an email if you are interested enough to actually put money down. I'm not asking for a deposit, but before I spend a bunch of money on new tooling I just want to know how many folks would definitely be buying. Also in that email, specify whether you'd want a single seat, or a double, and whether you want a kit or complete.

The plan at this point, is to order the tooling and materials next week most likely to make a new double seat using the improvements we've got in mind, then ride it around for a week or so. Assuming the construction and finish product go according to plan, then we'll start taking orders. I will probably do first come first serve and only take a few at a time, so I don't keep folks waiting long that have put money down.

Sorry if it seems like we're fumbling our way through this a bit. Starting up a side business is not something we've been looking for or thinking much about prior to this. So we appreciate all the feedback and patience.
